Marketingleiter ALBRECHT JUNG GmbH & Co. KG, Schalksmühle

“Progress as Tradition” is the guiding principle for JUNG. What does this mean today and for the future?
JUNG stands for the highest quality and technology – and has done for over 100 years. It is part of our self-image, never to be content with what has been achieved. For this reason, we are already developing scenarios today, which may be the norm in the future. Nevertheless, at JUNG we believe that developments for the future are based on tried-and-tested solutions from the past, and that classic product solutions also deliver contemporary and elegant answers.
Ten years JUNG architecture talks. Through this forum, you offer architects and planners from all over Europe a platform for professional exchange on an equal footing. What importance does this series of talks have for you?
We believe that the JUNG brand can only successfully remain in the market through dialogue. The JUNG architecture talks exist precisely as a result of this dialogue. We receive direct, unbiased feedback and can address in a transparent and unfiltered manner those things that concern the architects. Furthermore, our product-neutral events deal with current topics that encourage interactive discussions on the podium, or more profound discussions afterwards.
Switches and switch systems, but for how long? Smart home is on everyone's lips. Tomorrow's users won't “press” any more – they'll “swipe”. How does a company meet these challenges?
Our product solutions already meet all the standards that are desired for a future-oriented home. For over 25 years, JUNG has been a partner of KNX, and has thus been providing a reliable system for building automation. The switch on the wall, however, will not disappear in spite of progressive operating options and smart technology, rather it will continue to endure at least as a touch sensor.
You have been associated with the aed for quite a few years. You have promoted various events, including our excursion to the Expo in Milan. In terms of design, how important it is for you to communicate with the general public?
Our products should, of course, provide an added value to our customers. For this reason, honest feedback and constructive criticism is very important to us. This can be achieved only through frank exchange and dialogue, so that communication with the public is essential to improving our performance.
